Galway City Council has given planning consent for the €104m Bonham Quay office development in Galway City Centre overlooking Galway Docks.

The BDP-designed project will be carried out by Edward Capital. Scope of work includes construction of four office blocks ranging between 4,820 sq m and 11,845 sq m in size.

Bonham Quay will also comprise 3,700 sq m of public squares and plazas, retail space and restaurants, a commuter centre, a fitness centre and a larger dedicated arts and cultural facility. The project is anticipated to lead to the creation of 500 jobs during construction.

“Bonham Quay will make maximum use of the spectacular views over the docklands with extensive use of external glazing and will benefit from day-long sunlight from the west coast. The development will be delivered to an exemplary environmental performance exceeding recently set zero carbon targets,” BDP said in a statement.
