Binyah to build transportation links at The Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian real estate infrastructure company Binyah has secured a contract from The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) for the construction of transportation links at The Red Sea Project, a tourism destination being developed in Saudi Arabia.

Under the contract, Binyah will design and construct 77km of roads, including a 10km highway, a 13km airport access road along with interconnecting roads within the destination and an access road to the bridge linking the main hub island.

The Red Sea Development Company CEO John Pagano said: “The partnership furthers TRSDC’s commitment to supporting local companies, as well as our ongoing contribution to creating growth and employment opportunities within the Saudi Arabian construction sector.”

Slated to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2020, the work will be closely monitored by TRSDC’s environmental team at all stages of the development.

TRSDC said that all construction work will ensure the protection of area’s sensitive wadi ecosystems and will take place in areas designated as Development Zones in the marine spatial planning simulation, conducted during the first phase of development.

Binyah CEO Fahad Al Mesfer said: “We value this partnership with the prestigious Red Sea Project and look forward to contributing to the realization of Vision 2030.

“We are committed to providing the infrastructure that meets the highest international standards.”

The Red Sea Project is a luxurious tourism destination which will be developed over 28,000km² of pristine land on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. It will comprise an archipelago of 90 natural islands, dormant volcanoes, mountain canyons, desert vistas, ancient cultural and heritage sites.

The first phase of the project includes 14 luxury hotels offering 3,000 rooms, built over five islands and two inland locations.

Scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022, the project will also include entertainment facilities, an airport, and the necessary supporting logistics and utilities infrastructure.
