BAM secures two university contracts in Germany

BAM Deutschland, the German operating company of Royal BAM Group, has won two contracts worth over €145m for university buildings in Düsseldorf and Cologne, Germany.

One of the contracts will involve the construction of a three-building complex with a total gross floor area of 38,000 sq m at the Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf. The project is valued at more than €85m.


Designed by Hascher Jehle Projektgesellschaft, the building will feature offices, laboratories, lecture halls, and central chemicals storage. Construction work will commence this month, with completion expected in early 2018.


The other contract, worth over €60m, will include the construction of a new seven-storey oncology treatment centre at the University Hospital in Cologne. The building will have a total gross floor area of 37,000 sq m.


The project, designed by Medfacilities in association with Kadawittfeldarchitektur, is expected to be completed in August 2018.
