Construction group BAM has secured a contract to build the Two Chamberlain Square, the second building in the first phase of the Paradise development in Birmingham, UK.

The new 17,000 sq m office project, designed by Glenn Howells Architects, will feature elegant columns to reflect the architecture of the Town Hall, and full-length glazing with unrivalled views over Chamberlain Square.

Rob Groves, regional director at Argent — responsible for managing the entire development, said: “This building, alongside One Chamberlain Square, is set to be one of Birmingham’s most impressive and is further evidence that exciting things are happening in the city. We are looking forward to working with BAM to bring Two Chamberlain Square to life.”

Construction work is also underway on the One Chamberlain Square, the neighbouring building.

Enabling and infrastructure works have commenced on both buildings and piling for the foundations of the Two Chamberlain Square are being drilled up to 20m into the ground.

The Two Chamberlain Square will be complete in early 2019, while the One Chamberlain Square is scheduled for completion in 2018.

The Paradise development will comprise ten new buildings offering offices, retail space, bars, cafés, restaurants and a hotel.
