Balfour Beatty to build new corporate campus

WCN Editorial Team 15 Dec 2016 NORTH AMERICA BUILDINGS

Balfour Beatty Construction has been selected by Holder Properties to construct phase 1 of the new Blackbaud corporate campus in Charleston, South Carolina.

The project’s first phase will include a four-storey, 15,980sq m office building and a surface car parking accommodating 650 vehicles.

The corporate campus, to be located on a 13-acre site in the Daniel Island community, will consolidate Blackbaud’s Charleston operations into one location.

The development, designed by ASD/SKY, will feature game rooms, ergonomic work stations and bike racks. It will also include outdoor recreation spaces, a basketball court, bocce ball court and hiking trails.

Balfour Beatty will use technologies such as building information modelling (BIM) software and digital documents that will enable the team to access real-time plans on the paperless project.

Construction work is underway, and the first phase of the campus is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018. The campus is targeting LEED certification.
