
Qatar Public Works Authority Ashghal has awarded five construction contracts for infrastructure and citizens’ sub-divisions projects in different areas, all worth around QAR2.7bn ($741m), to serve more than 5,192 land plots.
Ashghal held a review meeting on the 2018 plan for infrastructure projects in citizens’ sub-divisions and the projects currently being implemented.
The first contract pertains to infrastructure project for Citizens’ Sub-Divisions in Al Kharaitiyat and Ezghawa (Package 3). It was awarded to a joint venture between Al Ghanim International General Trading & Contracting and National Industrial Contracting. It is worth about QAR671m ($184m).
The project will serve 1,355 land plots, and will include construction of 40km of roads, and providing more than 4,200 parking bays and around 69km of pedestrian and cyclist lanes.
The second contract is related to infrastructure project for Citizens’ Sub-Divisions in Al Ebb and Leabib (Package 1). It has been awarded to Qatar Trade and Contracting Group and is worth about QAR645m ($177m).
The project will serve 1,007 land plots, and will include construction of 26km of roads, and providing over 3,400 parking bays and 49km of pedestrian and cyclist lanes.
The third contract is for Citizens’ Sub-Divisions in Muaither West – Al Manaseer (Package 2). It has been awarded to a joint venture of UrbaCon Trading & Contracting and InfraRoad Trading & Contracting and is valued at QAR551m ($151m).
The project will serve 1,548 land plots, and will include construction of 30km of roads, and providing more than 11,000 parking bays and 120km of pedestrian and cyclist lanes.
The fourth infrastructure contract is for Citizens’ Sub-Divisions in Muaither West – Al Manaseer (Package 3), and has been awarded to Boom Construction. It is worth about QAR489m ($134m).
This project will serve 733 land plots, and will include construction of 22km of roads, and 90km of pedestrian and cyclist lanes.
The fifth contract is for Citizens’ Sub-Divisions in Al Mearaad and South West of Muaither (Package 1), and has been awarded to Bin Omran Trading and Contracting. It is worth about QAR356m ($98m).
The project will serve 509 land plots, and includes construction of around 18km of roads, and providing more than 3,100 parking bays and around 35km of pedestrian and cyclist lanes.
