Avangrid Renewables, the US-based subsidiary of Iberdrola, and Apple Energy, an energy subsidiary of tech giant Apple, have signed an agreement for the long-term sale of power generated at the Montague Wind Farm in Oregon, US.
Under the agreement, Iberdrola will own and operate the wind farm, and supply its electricity to Apple for the next 20 years
Estimated to cost about $300M, the Montague wind farm will be built in the Gilliam County and will have an installed capacity of 200MW.
Construction of the wind farm is scheduled to take place between 2018 and 2020.
The Montague wind farm will join the fleet of flagship wind farms that the company has implemented across the US, such as Amazon Wind Farm US East (North Carolina), which supplies power to Amazon, or Leaning Jupiter (Oregon) and Jupiter Canyon (Washington), both of which supply power to Nike.
