Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties has selected Trojan General Contracting as the main contractor for the first three precincts of Yas Acres, a flagship development on Yas Island.

Under the contract, Trojan General Contracting will mobilise on site immediately as it works on all infrastructure, 652 villas and townhouses, the golf course, golf club house, mosque, retail and community clubs.
The latest contract follows the recent completion of the early works package, with Yas Acres recently surpassing its first construction milestone of 10% completion.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Aldar Properties chief development officer, said: "We are pleased to award the main contract for the first three precincts of Yas Acres, our flagship development on Yas Island, as we continue to focus on its timely completion, and delivery to customers.
"With the mobilisation of the contractors we expect to see highly visible progress as these precincts of villas and townhouses start construction."

The main package will entail an investment of AED1.7bn ($462M) over a period of 32 months. Aldar is expected to hand over the first homes at the end of 2019.

The overall development comprises 1,315 homes, a golf course, schools, retail, and other leisure amenities.
