Aldar Properties, a UAE-based property development company, has launched a new waterfront development on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Known as Water's Edge, the AED2.4bn ($653.4m) project will feature 2,255 homes as well as exercise and recreation facilities, retail, restaurants and cafes.

Each home of the 13 apartment buildings will feature a balcony, enabling residents to enjoy stunning waterfront views. Additionally, the tower will include private courtyards with landscaped areas, pools, multipurpose courts and a mosque.

Located adjacent to the upcoming Sea World theme park, the Water's Edge project will feature one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats.

The early works for the project are expected to commence by December this year, while flats are scheduled to be completed between June and December 2020.

Aldar CEO Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak said: "Yas Island has established itself as Abu Dhabi's most exciting destination with world-renowned leisure and entertainment attractions, and a range of luxury apartments, townhouses and villas set to welcome residents over the coming years.

“Water's Edge is the latest chapter in the Yas Island story – bringing high quality waterfront living to the Emirate. We are confident that Water's Edge will complement our existing residential portfolio, and draw a positive response from customers."
