Abu Dhabi-based property development, investment and management company Aldar Properties has appointed Trojan General Contracting as the main contractor for Water’s Edge, the latest waterfront development on Yas Island.

The contract is valued at AED1.3bn ($353.93m).

Early works package was awarded to Dutch Foundation, which commenced work on site in February 2018.

Located on the eastern shores of Yas Island, Water’s Edge will consist of studios, one, two, three-bedroom apartments.

It will offer home owners complete outdoor lifestyle, along with pedestrian access to all amenities such as a waterfront promenade with multiple dining and retail options.

It will also include private courtyards with spacious landscaped areas, pools, multipurpose courts and a mosque.

Residents are also expected to benefit from the abundant attractions that make Yas Island one of the exciting destinations in Abu Dhabi.

Water’s Edge lies adjacent to the upcoming Sea World theme park and a five-minute walk from Yas Mall, Ferrari World and the Yas Marina Circuit.

In March 2018, Aldar announced the launch of Reflection – an AED440m ($119.8m), boutique residential development on Reem Island.

Sales for Reflection commenced on 31 March 2018 at Aldar’s sales centre on Yas Island, with prices starting from AED580,000 ($157,905).

Reflection comprises two towers offering 374 homes (182 and 192 apartments in each), consisting of studios, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments, which are available for purchase by all nationalities.

Aldar CEO Talal Al Dhiyebi said: “We are delighted to bring Reflection to the market. We have witnessed sustained demand for this type of product – led by high-end amenities, in prime locations, and affordable for a wide range of customers.

“Reflection represents Aldar’s continuous evolution in this boutique segment, and we look forward to sales starting on 31 March.”

Reflection will also include an outdoor seating area, lounge, outdoor fitness area and yoga deck, indoor gymnasiums, swimming pools, ground-level parking, and retail outlets.
A spacious pocket park will connect the two towers.

Construction is expected to begin in 2018 and targeted for completion in 2021.
