
AECOM Asia Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of AECOM, has secured a contract with China-based Elite Global Group (EGGL) to provide integrated program management services.
Under the contract, AECOM will provide large capital project program management services to enable EGGL to advance the development of its $1.85bn, 250-acre Nickelodeon-themed project.
The Nickelodeon-themed project a central feature for the 750-acre, Foshan Cultural and Ecological Coastal Park.
The park is a master-planned environment surrounded with cultural, tourism, sports and science and technology components.
The project was initiated on 4 January 2017 and is expected to open in between 2020-21.
It is located in Foshan, a southern China city that is home to over seven million people, part of the affluent, greater Pearl River Delta mega metropolitan region.
AECOM Asia Pacific vice president Chris Yoshii said: "This is the first, large-scale agreement for AECOM to deliver its proprietary life-cycle of integrated program management services for a consequential theme park project in Asia and is a breakthrough moment for our program management consultancy business in the People's Republic of China."
The companies have signed the contract on the sidelines of the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 took place recently in Orlando, Florida.
Elite Global Group director of board of directors Michael Chang said: "Millions of Chinese consumers enthusiastically await the opening of the project, which we believe will introduce innovations and advance China's theme park industry."
