
OHL Industrial has won a €224.6M contract from Ecocementos for the construction of a cement plant in Colombia.
The facility, to be located in the city of Sonson, will have a production capacity of 3,150t daily of clinker and about 1.35M t of cement annually.
The plant is anticipated to create 220 direct and 250 indirect jobs when it becomes fully operational, in addition to an average of 800 jobs in the course of its construction.
Ecocementos is owned by the Colombian group Corona and by the Spanish company Cementos Molins.
