Voice Mobile plans to set up manufacturing plant in India

Mobile handset firm Voice Mobile is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in 2011 in India and announced an investment of INR1000 million ($22 million) for the same

Voice Mobile, which is one of the new entrants in the mobile handset market, is looking at selling five lakh devices a month from 2011. Currently, the company is selling 35,000 handsets every month. The company also plans to invest INR250 million ($5.5 million) in financial year 2010 to increase the product portfolio. At present, the company has 11 products ranging between INR1, 500 ($33 million) and INR6, 000 ($132 million).

The company is also planning to tie-up with operators to bundle their handsets. The company is in talks with BSNL and Bharti Airtel, to offer the handsets along with their services.
