Vinci likely to get $1.5 billion tunnel contract

France-based construction company Vinci SA could acquire a RUB47.7 billion ($1.5 billion) contract to build the first ever tunnel, under the Neva river at St Petersburg in Russia.
As per the company officials, the final decision would be made on March 30, 2010. Vinci was the only participant in the tender for the project, which aims at improving Russia's aged infrastructure.
Vinci SA is a France-based company, which is engaged in concessions, construction and related services. The Company has four business divisions. Vinci Concessions combines its expertise in the design, construction, financing and operation of infrastructure related to different modes of transportation. It operates in four areas including road infrastructures, car parks, airports and large structures. Vinci Energies provides engineering, systems integration, installation and maintenance in energy infrastructure, industry, the service sector and telecommunications.
