The University of Glasgow in the UK has given green light for the construction of Postgraduate Teaching (PGT) Hub and business school building.
Designed by Australian firm Hassell, the £86m development will comprise modern and collaborative learning and teaching facilities for PGT students.

The development is also expected to allow the Adam Smith Business School to continue to deliver learning, teaching and research, and enhanced student experience.
Adam Smith Business School head John Finch said: “The new development will build on the legacy of pioneering thinker Adam Smith. It will create spaces for analytical, entrepreneurial and sustainable learning, teaching and research, driven by our academics’ curiosity, and address challenges internationally and locally in business, organisations and the economy.
“It will increase scope for cross-disciplinary collaboration, creating inspiring spaces which facilitate innovation and support our students in their learning and teaching within and beyond their degree programmes.

By GlobalDataThe project forms of the University’s £1bn Campus Development Programme, which is redeveloping the site of the former Western Infirmary in Glasgow’s West End.
The new building is located on the site’s southern boundary, on Dumbarton Road and adjacent to Kelvingrove Museum and Kelvin Hall.
University of Glasgow principal and vice-chancellor Sir Anton Muscatelli said: “It will be transformative for the Adam Smith Business School, supporting its ambition to become one of the world’s leading business schools, whilst revolutionising the PGT student experience across the campus.”
In 2018, the university had secured planning approval from Glasgow City Council to start construction on its new £113m Research Hub at the heart of the Western campus.
The Research Hub host more than 600 academics, postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D. students working across five broad research themes.
