Trump Hotel wins Washington Old Post Office Building redevelopment contract
7 February 2012Trump Hotel Collection has secured a contract from US General Services Administration (GSA) for the re-development of the historic Old Post Office Building into a hotel in Washington DC, US.
Pursuant to the contract, Trump will sponsor, invest, develop, brand and operate the new hotel. The project will be co-funded by Colony Capital, a US-based real estate investment company. The redevelopment will preserve the original grandeur and elegance of the old, iconic building located at Pennsylvania Avenue and 12th Street . The company will re-develop the building into a more than 250-guestroom hotel that will also have penthouses and presidential suites; restaurants, a café, and a bar and lounge; extensive banquet, ballroom and meeting facilities. The hotel will also have The Spa at Trump, a library as well as a curated museum, exhibition gallery, and indoor and outdoor gardens.
