Sinovel Wind to construct turbine manufacturing plant in China

Sinovel Wind Company, Beijing-based manufacturer of wind turbines, is planning to build a CNY3 billion ($441 million) manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China, to meet domestic and overseas demand.
The plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 1.5GW. Construction of the Lingang plant is expected to begin in February 2011 and is likely to be completed by July 2011. The plant will produce offshore wind turbines with unit capacity of 5, 6 and 10MW. On completion, the facility is expected to supply wind turbines to customers in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Guangdong as well as overseas markets.
Sinovel Wind Group Company Limited is the first high-tech enterprise in China engaged in independently developing, designing, manufacturing and marketing large-scale onshore/offshore series wind turbines which could adapt to different wind zones and environment.
