Palm Beach to get proton therapy centre

Boca Raton Regional Hospital plans to build a proton therapy center on Glades Road with an investment of $120 million.

As part of the development , Boca Raton Regional Hospital will install three proton therapy machines at its center, with one more coming from the Wellington-based South Florida Radiation Oncology which plans to invest $30 million for the project. Boca Raton Regional Hospital plans to bring up with the facility on its own property at 650 Glades Rd.

Palm Beach County currently lacks a proton centre therapy owing to which it has to redirect patients to Jacksonville. The new centre is expected to fill in the gap.
