Nidec plans new factory and R&D laboratory in China

Nidec Corporation has announced that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Nidec (Dalian) Limited will build a third factory and R&D laboratory at Dalian Economic & Technical Development Zone in Dalian City, China.

Nidec (Dalian) Limited currently operates two factories in Dalian Economic & Technical Development Zone, both of which engaged in the production of small precision motors. With an estimated capital investment of $50 million, the third factory now planned for construction will undertake the manufacturing of automotive motors.

The third factory will be equipped with an adjacent laboratory embracing advanced research and development capabilities. Working in tandem, the new manufacturing and R&D facilities assume an essential role in driving the commercialization of the Company's industry-leading electric motor technology and accommodating the rapidly growing demand in a broad spectrum of the Asian market.

Nidec Corporation is a manufacturer of electric motors in Japan. Their products are found in hard-disk drives, household electric appliances, commercial and manufacturing equipment.
