Timber Products Company, manufacturer of various wood products, plans to install a clear ultraviolet finishing process to its hardwood plywood plant in Corinth, Mississippi.
The company said it would invest approximately US$350,000 on the UV line and create up to four new jobs. The plant currently employs about 50 people.
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) provided assistance through the Job Protection Grant programme for building modifications in support of this project.
"This expansion is providing us with a more diversified product offering, allowing us to enter new markets, create new jobs and help protect existing jobs," said Bud Reaves, division controller for Timber Products Company.
Timber Products, based in Springfield, Oregon, has operated the Corinth hardwood plywood plant for approximately 20 years. The company also owns seven other manufacturing operations across the country.
