MRT Corp awards two viaduct work packages

Malaysia’s Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) has awarded two viaduct work package contracts worth MYR1.57bn ($369M) for the construction of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line in Malaysia.

WCT Holdings, an investment holding company, has secured a MYR896M ($210M) package for the construction and completion of the viaduct guideway and other associated works from Bandar Malaysia South Portal to Kampung Muhibbah.

MTD Construction has been awarded a package for the construction and completion of the viaduct guideway and other associated works from Taman Pinggiran Putra to Persiaran Alpina, valued at MYR678M ($159M).

MRT Corp CEO Dato’ Sri Shahril Mokhtar said: “The two contractors are well known in the construction industry due to their track record. This is a boon for the project as their experience will benefit the construction of the SSP Line.”
