Mansell tops-out $38 million student housing facility at University of Kent in UK

UK-based Mansell Construction Services Limited has marked a milestone with the topping-out of University Partnerships Programme's (UPP) £24 million ($38.3 million) student accommodation project at the University of Kent in the UK.

UPP is a leading provider of campus infrastructure, student accommodation and residential management services. Upon completion, the new student housing facility will feature 495 rooms. The construction project is designed to achieve a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM ) rating using responsibly sourced concrete and recycled materials where possible. Kevin Atkinson, construction director of Mansell, was stated that working with UPP and the University of Kent has proven to be a very successful partnership that has allowed the company to deliver a high quality, well designed community where students want to live. He also added that the development sets a high standard for university accommodation and, following the topping out, the company is looking forward to moving to the final phase of construction.
