L&T, SUCG JV wins $232 million Delhi metro contract in India

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), in a joint venture with Shanghai Urban Construction Group (SUCG), has won an order worth INR12.52 billion ($231.57 million) from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Under the terms of the contract, the Infrastructure IC of L&T Construction and SUCG will design and construct a tunnel between Shankar Vihar and Hauz Khas, as well as, underground stations at Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, Indian Institute of Technology and Hauz Khas. L&T Construction's share in the project is INR8.5 billion ($157.59 million).

Recently, the Building and Factories IC of L&T Construction has secured a contract worth INR6440 million ($119.11 million) for the construction of a permanent campus facility for the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.

The scope of work includes construction of engineering blocks, faculty and staff housing, student hostels, dining halls including ancillary and other associated works.

L&T operates as a technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company. The company is engaged in the design, engineering and construction of hydrocarbon upstream, mid and downstream, construction and pipelines projects.
