Lovell scoops Decent Homes framework contract from HFI
1 February 2010Morgan Sindall’s affordable housing and housing regeneration business Lovell has scooped a contract from Homes for Islington (HFI) for its GBP10.5 million ($16.73 million) Street Properties Decent Homes Framework
The company is one of three firms to have been appointed to carry out the major housing refurbishment scheme which will see around 700 properties in the London Borough of Islington upgraded over the next three years. Work will include the refurbishment and replacement of kitchens and bathrooms, along with external improvements. Eamon McGoldrick, chief executive of HFI, says, “Homes for Islington is moving towards in completion of its Decent Homes Program and this partnership with Lovell will help us achieve this target. We look forward to working together on this project.” Lovell specializes in delivering large-scale housing refurbishment schemes and refurbishes 20,000 homes across the UK annually. The company was the first housing refurbishment specialist to gain the TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) quality mark for contractors, which is an independent guarantee of excellence in resident engagement, on a national basis. The award recognizes best practice by the company in the way it involves residents during major housing improvement programs.
