Li Heng to build a new polyamide chip production plant in China
Published: 19-Jun-2010
Li Heng Chemical Fibre Technologies plans to construct CNY715 million ($145.8 million) a new polyamide or PA chip production plant in Fujian, China.
According to the company sources, funds for the new plant will come from company’s internal resources. The total cost of the new plant is estimated to be CNY715 million ($145.8 million). A large portion of the cost will go to machinery and equipment.
The construction of the new PA chip plant will start in the third quarter of 2010 and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2011. When the construction work on the plant is completed, Li Heng expects to be self-sufficient in PA chips.
Besides the new plant, the company currently has one PA plant in the Binhai Industrial Zone in Fujian, with a maximum annual capacity of about 70,000 metric tons. The company also expects to achieve cost savings on production amid the newly-imposed anti-dumping tariffs by China on imported PA chips.
