Lend Lease begins $357 million Craigieburn centre scheme in Australia
8 February 2012Lend Lease Corporation has commenced construction work on the new AUD330 million ($357 million) town centre in Craigieburn, Victoria, Australia.
The development on Craigieburn Central will feature more than 150 retailers, green public spaces, meeting places and an exciting new entertainment and leisure precinct. Craigieburn Central will also house approximately 55,000 square metres of retail including Big W and Target, speciality retailers and fresh food market halls as well as new format Coles and Woolworths supermarkets. The centre will also offer casual family restaurants, a children’s playground and a new concept in food court dining. Lend Lease is responsible to carry out the development, project management and construction of Craigieburn Central, which is jointly owned by the Lend Lease managed Australian Prime Property Fund Retail (APPF Retail) and Lend Lease. Construction work on the project is expected to take approximately two years with completion expected prior to Christmas 2013.
