'Flying yacht’ design concept from French designer

French designer Yelken Octuri recently exhibited the design concept of a ‘flying yacht’, featuring four masts that will become wings once lowered and transforms the boat into a plane.

The high-tech ‘flying yacht’ is the brainchild of Yelken Octuri, who also designs cabins for Airbus. He has combined his knowledge of aircraft design with love of the sea to create this unique concept. The ‘superyacht with wings’ was recently on display at Paris' Air and Space Museum.

This 46-feet long yacht can be converted from super yacht to jet plane with the help of four mobile masts. When on the water, each of the four mobile masts reaches a height of 40m and can be individually oriented through a double-jack system. This ensures optimal positioning regardless of wind direction. At the time of take off, these sails can be stored in compartments, which are located inside each mast that is further lowered down to work as horizontal wings.

The flying yacht features two main decks. The lower deck houses the main room, kitchen and toilet, and upper one accommodates three spacious bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom.
