CNBM to construct cement plant in Iraq

China-based CNBM has started the construction of a cement plant for a private investor in al-Muthana province in Iraq.

Officials from CNBM were reported stating that the Chinese firm will construct the plant for an Iraqi investor. It was also reported that the total cost of the project is expected to be around $270 million. Upon completion, the plant is expected to produce 3,200 tons of cement per year.

As of now, around 500 Chinese technicians and staff members will work on erecting the facility in the al-Mamlaha area of the al-Muthana province, around 20 km southwest of the al-Samawa city.
