Arrowhead Regional Medical Center unveils sustainable office building in California

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) in Colton, California has unveiled an eco-friendly three-storey office building, marking the hospital's largest expansion since its opening in 1999.

The new building, designed by California-based architectural design firm DLR Group, is expected to help the hospital in meeting the growing demand for patient care. The new facility has been designed adhering to the environmentally sustainable principles. The structure displays the same semicircle shape and tan-and-white exterior as that of the main building, with an intention to blend it well with the rest of the campus.

The $21 million project, which contains 68,000 square feet of office space designed to house 300 physicians, administrators and other employees, also offers more outpatient services. The hospital's dialysis and cardiac health management centres will be relocated to the new building. The facility also houses a new clinic, and the services to be offered in the clinic will be finalised by the officials later.

The GnanaDev cardiac centre, named for GnanaDev, who donated seed money to open it four years ago, is aimed to help uninsured or under-insured patients who have undergone surgery. The new dialysis centre features 22 patient bays, as compared to eight currently available to patients.
